Hipsters Come To The Hudson Valley

Here’s a NY Times article on the Brooklynization of the Hudson Valley. Hipsters and the like are moving to towns like New Paltz, Millerton, and Kingston with greater frequency, bringing with them an urban coolness and artistic sensibilities. But while there certainly is a hipness factor in the revitalization of many of these river towns,  some questions continue to remain. A few of them are: Are there enough jobs in these small towns to support a large influx of people? Can people who are used to a 24/7 world get used to a life where things close at 6pm? Can people used to getting around by subway get used to frequently driving long distances, especially at night on darkened roadways? And can people not necessarily used to having to shovel show, deal with the tough, and often dangerous, upstate winters?
